How To Apply Organic Red Henna Powder To Hair

Buy henna online from Feelgood Health and mix approximately half a cup of henna with strong rooibos or ceylon tea, coffee or red wine. This is said to help soften the intense red colour of the henna however you may need to add more henna, depending on the length of your hair. If you use water instead, never use boiling hot water.

Apply the paste to one strand of hair and leave it on for fifteen minutes. Wash and blow-dry to gauge the colour intensity before applying it to your whole head. 

Rinse with water, without using shampoo.

Henna Paste Ingredients For Body Art 

Add two teaspoons of instant coffee to about 1 1/2 cups of water and mix well. Place in a pot and boil until it reduces to about a 3/4 cup of dark liquid.

Sift out approximately 1 1/4 cups of dry organic red henna powder and mix just enough coffee liquid into the henna powder to create a thick paste. The hot liquid will make the powder ball up a little, so be sure to mix it into a well-blended and smooth paste. 

Add about two teaspoons of lemon juice to the paste. We recommend that you choose freshy squeezed lemon juice as one of your henna paste ingredients, as we believe that fresh is always best! 

Add about five drops each of Eucalyptus Oil and Clove Oil, and mix well. This should make a thin paste, without being runny. If it is too runny, add a little more sifted organic red henna powder. If it is too thick, add a little more concentrated coffee liquid, or plain water. Allow the paste to settle and cool for about two hours.
