There is a huge amount of controversy around the use of apricot kernels and you are strongly encouraged to do your own research as most companies selling apricot kernels are restricted in what they can say about them.
How to use:
Apricot kernels are rather bitter and can take some getting used to if you are new to them. Some people like to sprout them and this can be an easier way to eat apricot kernels. However, many people eat them whole or add them to smoothies, especially smoothies containing bananas, paw paw or pineapple.
How many apricot kernels should I use daily? If you are new to apricot kernels, it is important that you start slowly with one apricot kernel at a time, three or 4 times a day - to allow your body to get used to them. People differ in the amount they need, based on weight, age, health levels and diet, You can build this number up slowly and some people take 20 - 30 kernels daily, for medicinal purposes, especially if their health is compromised. As a general protective tonic, however, 3 - 5 apricot kernels daily are recommended. If you are using large amounts of apricot kernels daily, it is best to do so under the supervision of your holistic health practitioner.
