There is a science behind it. A kilojule is actually a unit of energy burned by the body… it also refers to the energy value of food and the amount of energy our bodies burn. Your body needs some calories just to operate - to keep your heart beating and your lungs breathing. Losing weight essentially happens when output is increased (moving around a bit more) and food intake is maintained at the same rate, or lowered. So we've put together some easy, quick things that you can do each day, totalling only 30min in the whole day, to lose weight! NO changing of your diet! Read on for all the details...

The two month plan - tips to lose up to 5kgs without changing your eating plan!

Most of us lead pretty busy lives, fetching kids, rushing to meetings and generally having a busy day. This is a good thing when it comes to burning kilojules and losing weight! But, did you know that adding a few small extra activities (or actually just modifying the way you rush around during the day), can help you to lose up to 5kgs in just 8 short weeks? 

Here is a daily breakdown of small things that can be done to burn the amount of calories needed to shed the weight. Each number point below should make up 5minutes minimum and even better if you can get it to 10min:

  1. Morning: If you usually walk to a train or bus, walk a teeny bit brisker. If you drive to work, park further away from the office entrance and take the stairs to your office. If you work higher than the 5th floor, then the elevator is okay - but make sure that you add 5min to any activity outlined below to make up for it...
  2. Mid morning: Usually send out for coffee? Why not take a short walk to that coffee shop across from your office instead? Need to have papers sent up from the floor below? Rather take the stairs and fetch them. Something arrives at reception for you, run down the stairs to fetch it. If you're not in an office block, even a walk to your office fax machine instead of having them brought to you can help! Make it a mission to move and volunteer for errands if you can squeeze them in.
  3. Lunchtime: If possible, take a walk and leave the office to eat. Sit on a bench in a park nearby or walk to a local eatery and order a healthy lunch and then walk back to the office. If you are required to eat at work and can't leave the office, take a quick walk downstairs to the floor below, then run back up. If you work from home, skip with a skipping rope for 5 minutes.
  4. Late Afternoon: Take the stairs to your meetings. Again, park further away from the entrance if you are visiting clients. Stand while waiting for colleagues to join you in the boardroom meeting. All of these small activities equals more calories being burned! If you work from home, skip with a skipping rope for 5 minutes, walk to your postbox every day. If you have cleaning staff, walk to the gate to let them in instead of just buzzing them in. Park further away from the shopping centre when you do your grocery shopping. If you have 3 shopping bags or less, carry them to the car instead of using a trolley.
  5. Evening: instead of sitting on the couch watching television, invest in a pezzi ball and sit on it instead. This will engage your core muscles, but make sure to only sit on it for ten minutes each night. Play with the kids for a quick 10 minutes, or the dog in the back garden. Anything that gets your heart rate up for a little bit.
  6. Before Bed: Go to sleep one hour early than you usually do. You actually burn more energy sleeping than sitting on the couch watching television. This is because you move in your sleep, tossing, turning over. PLUS, an hour earlier to bed means less chance to nibble late at night and also more time to get quality sleep - another factor that influences weight.

And there you have it! Your TOTAL minutes per day spent increasing energy expenditure is: 30min! That's 3 and a half hours in a 7 day week! Far more convenient than gym, wouldn't you agree?

DAY 1

MORNING 
Pour a cup of boiling water over two slices of freshly sliced lemon and leave to cool slightly while you get dressed. Drink while it is still warm. The oils and juices released from the lemon and the lemon rind will assist your liver to produce bile, one of the major fat burners in your body.

BREAKFAST
Start with 15 drops of Feelgood Health Detox Drops in at least 1/4 glass of water
Cut up one orange and one apple onto a plate. Sit somewhere peaceful and slowly eat the fruit, making sure that you chew each mouthful well and appreciate the flavours and the colours of the food you are eating. When you are finished, have a full glass of water.

MID-MORNING
Eat an apple or an orange and drink a cup of herbal tea. No sugar is allowed, but you can use an artificial sweetener as a substitute. Try and opt for the sucralose variety rather than those that contain aspartame or saccharine.

LUNCH
Make sure that you sit somewhere peaceful to eat your lunch and begin with a full glass of water containing a slice or two of fresh lemon and 15 drops of Feelgood Health Detox Drops. Make sure that you drink the whole glass.
For lunch you can make a salad out of at least five of the following raw ingredients: lettuce, tomato, carrots, cucumber, apple, celery, onion, spring onion, green pepper, raw peas, raw green beans, apple, grapes, watermelon, pineapple, sunflower seeds, sprouts (lentil, mung bean, etc - but no wheat sprouts). Eat as much as you like!

MID-AFTERNOON
Eat an apple or an orange and drink a cup of herbal tea.

DINNER
The same as for lunch. Remember to begin with a full glass of water containing a slice or two of fresh lemon and 15 drops of Feelgood Health Detox Drops.

BEFORE BEDTIME
One banana OR half an avocado pear OR one apple and a cup of herbal tea OR two 100% rye crackers with a cup of warm milk (low fat or skim). This is a lovely sleepy time snack!

DAY 2

MORNING 
Pour a cup of boiling water over two slices of freshly sliced lemon and leave to cool slightly while you get dressed. As before, drink while it is still warm.

BREAKFAST
Begin with a full glass of water containing a slice or two of fresh lemon and 15 drops of Feelgood Health Detox Drops.

Two eggs (soft boiled, hard boiled or poached)
+ One raw tomato (sliced) + Two 100% rye crackers with low fat cottage cheese + One cup herbal tea (no sugar but artificial sweetener can be used)

MID-MORNING
Sliced apple and two 100% rye crackers. Cup of herbal tea.

LUNCH
Begin with a full glass of water containing a slice or two of fresh lemon and 15 drops of  Feelgood Health Detox Drops.
One large or two small baked potatoes with one of the following fillings:
Two big tablespoons low fat cottage cheese mixed with chopped parsley and spring onion.
One medium chopped cooked chicken breast (no skin) with sliced garlic quickly pan roasted in a teaspoon of olive oil;
Tuna (on its own or mixed with chopped green peppers and a squeeze of lemon juice and a few drops of olive oil) Be sure to buy the tinned tuna in brine, not the one in oil!

Lemon juice, salt, pepper, garlic and fresh or dried herbs may be used for flavouring. Add a salad using at least three of the ingredients from the Detox Plus menu. You can eat as much salad as you like.

MID-AFTERNOON
Sliced apple OR bunch of grapes (about 10 - 15) OR large orange and two 100% rye crackers. Cup of herbal tea.

DINNER
Begin with a full glass of water containing a slice or two of fresh lemon and 15 drops of Feelgood Health Detox Drops.
One grilled medium chicken breast OR one small tin tuna OR one large baked potato.

Up to one teaspoon of olive oil may be used for grilling. Lemon juice, salt, pepper and fresh or dried herbs may be used for flavouring.

As with the lunch menu, you can add a salad using at least three of the ingredients from the Detox Plus menu. Again - eat as much salad as you like!

BEFORE BEDTIME
