DIY easy mouthwash recipes with essential oils and apple cider vinegar

If creating your own body care products is your thing then you are really going to love our DIY mouthwash recipes! They are easy, fun and natural - the way mouthwash should be. Using mouthwash as part of your daily oral hygiene routine means adding to a healthier you (and even more radiant smile!)

Commercial mouthwashes are full of toxic chemicals, including ones linked to cancer. A recent study in the Dental Journal of Australia found that regular use of conventional mouth wash could lead to a greater risk of developing cancer of the mouth. Some of the harmful ingredients used in store bought mouthwash include artificial dyes, chlorhexidine, hexetidine, methyl salicylate, methylparaben & triclosan, all of which have been found to carry health risks!

Natural Antibacterial Mouthwash (for the entire family)

You will need:

Stir all of the above together in a jug and then pour into your jar or glass bottle. Give the mouthwash a shake / stir each time you use it as the baking soda might tend to settle on the bottom. Have fun and good luck!

Natural Mouthwash - to soothe and treat gingivitis (inflammation of the gums)

You will need:

Stir the above ingredients in a jug. Use warm water to dissolve the baking soda and honey. Add the essential oils and neem oil. Each time you use your mouthwash give it a shake or stir. Enjoy!

For Apple Cider Vinegar lovers you can also add 2 tablespoons of ACV, 1 cup purified water and vanilla or Soil Organic Orange Essential Oil and make a really amazing antibacterial mouthwash!
