Benefits of Herbal Teas PLUS how to make your own herbal tea

Herbal teas are wonderfully soothing, caffeine-free and jam packed with amazing health benefits. Drinking herbal tea offers an excellent source of vitamins and minerals. Made from different parts of the plants like flowers, leaves, roots, seeds or bark, herbal teas are available in a combination of varieties that suit every palate.

Herbal teas are an excellent way to gently treat a variety of every day health concerns and there is literally a tea for every ailment! There are a variety of herbal teas on the market – and we are very excited to announce our NEW range of YOGI teas!

YOGI TEA®’s roots stem from the 3,000 year-old Indian Ayurvedic teachings about the balance between body, mind and soul. In the 1960s, Indian yoga and Ayurveda traditions were first introduced to the rest of the world. Yogi Bhajan, a master of Kundalini Yoga, was a pioneer of this holistic yogic lifestyle, which encouraged people to live a happy, healthy and conscious lifestyle. Yogi Teas are blended according to Ayurvedic principles. Apart from being super-enjoyable, health-giving and convenient, Yogi Teas are also 100% certified organic, meaning you can enjoy all the health benefits without the pesticides and other nasty chemicals!

We thought we would introduce you to our new range of YOGI teas AND also teach you how to make your OWN herbal teas! The best news of all is that you can also grow your own herbs at home and use the herbs from your garden to make your own home made herbal tea! See the end of this article for more!

How to make your own herbal tea

Pick the fresh herbs and chop up to release the oils. While you are doing this, boil the kettle. Use about one – two teaspoons of freshly chopped herbs per cup. If you are making a pot of herbal tea, add an extra teaspoon of the herbs ‘for the pot’. Pour the hot water onto the herbs and allow to steep for at least 5- 7 minutes. Sweeten to taste and enjoy!
