How To Prevent And Treat Seasonal Allergies!

Spring is in the air and for most people it is a time to enjoy warmer days, beautiful flowers and more time outdoors – except if you suffer from allergies, of course! It’s difficult to be excited about Spring when your nose is running, your eyes are red, streaming and itchy and all you can do is sneeze!

Dealing with allergies can make you feel lousy, drained and plain ill! Allergies occur when your immune system overreacts to a substance that doesn’t bother most people. The substances that commonly cause allergies are generally pollen from flowers, dust, dust mites and in some cases pet dander (unfortunately). It is also very important to note that due to the high preservative/chemical content found in many highly processed foods, beauty, hygiene products and cleaning detergents, allergies can quite easily be triggered, as these kinds of nasty substances are very foreign to our natural bodies.

How to naturally treat and prevent allergies

Acute allergic reactions are commonly treated with over the counter anti-histamines or cortisone based medicines, which can bring some much needed relief. However, did you know that there is a lot you can do to naturally prevent and treat allergies and therefore avoid the side effects commonly associated with these medicines? Try the following:

  1. Understand your triggers – Try to avoid being in contact with substances that cause your allergies to flare up. If you are allergic to dust then try to keep your home and spaces as dust free as possible. If a particular food causes you to react badly then rather avoid it and replace it with something that has less/no reaction. If pollen is your nemesis, stay indoors when the wind is blowing. Also remember that many conventional soaps and body products  contain harmful toxins, so if you have sensitive skin then rather go the natural route to avoid skin irritations often resulting in eczema and psoriasis.
  2. Keep your nose clean – Using a simple saltwater nose rinse can help clear out trapped pollen particles and other nose irritants. Using a chemical free nasal spray like Silverlab Nasal Spray with Colloidal Silver can be just as effective. Colloidal Silver is a natural antimicrobial, anti-fungal, anti-viral & antibiotic. It also acts as a powerful natural immune booster.
  3. Determine when your allergies peak – Whether you suffer from allergies all year round or only during certain times of the year, it is important to naturally help your body defend itself. Natural allergy remedies like AllergiClear and Broma Allergy work with your body to help block the allergic reaction to allergens by preventing the release of histamine. They also help to decrease and eliminate the dependence on antihistamine drugs! AllergiClear is a natural remedy that helps to PREVENT as well as treat allergies. It can even be started BEFORE the allergy season and you will find your allergies are much less severe or even absent altogether!
  4. Keep your immunity strong – Allergies can easily be triggered by weaker immune systems. By keeping your immune system healthy and strong you have more natural ammunition to fight off airborne germs and nasties that can’t wait to find a warm cosy nesting place in your body. Try natural immune boosters like Broma Immune to keep your immune system strong and balanced.

It seems that there is a vast increase in people who are battling with allergies in modern life. The biggest reason is that more and more chemicals are being used in OTC medications, cleaning products, beauty & hygiene products and daily foods. As a result, our bodies and immune systems are weakened and there is a greater incidence of allergies, colds and ‘flu. By using natural remedies, eating raw, fresh, organic produce and opting for natural  products as much as possible, you can help your body (and mother earth of course) in its natural ability to fight off bad germs and impurities. Makes sense right?
