To answer your questions, you do NOT need to boil or cook the apricot kernels first. They should be consumed raw, either by being chewed, or by being added to a smoothie. Because they are very bitter, we recommend adding it to a smoothie to ‘mask’ the bitterness.

Start with 3 kernels per day and slowly increase. If your mother displays signs of nausea, reduce back one kernel. The time in which to see improvement differs from person to person, so it would be irresponsible of us to give you a time frame.

Hello Feelgoodhealth

Thanks for the great info.
I have been doing a fair bit of reading on this subject.
My Mom is currently battling brain and bone cancer.

The clarification you provide is great as there’s a lot of scare tactics on these kernels.
I read on many sites the recommended amount is no more than 3 an hour and no more than 10 a day but that differs from person to person. I’ve seen posts of much higher.
As you mention start off slow with one and build up.

Is there any prep needed for these kernels or can be simply put in the blender raw. I’ve read you need to boil them to release the toxic cyanide.

We’re thinking of putting them in my Moms smoothies.
She’s getting back to two smoothies a day. Morning and afternoon.

Is there any other precautions we should be taking?
Don’t want to introduce any additional problems other than what’s she’s already dealing with.
Also how quickly has it been noted to see any affects of improvement?
