Dry skin - Quick fixes!

Using Nature to Nurture skin from within!

For a soft, moist skin, eat foods that are rich in essential fats, particularly omega-3 fatty acids and monounsaturated oils. Include salmon, mackerel, tuna, sardines, olive oil, flaxseeds, raw pumpkin seeds, walnuts and almonds into your daily diet to nourish the skin. Drink at least eight to ten glasses of water daily to keep the skin well hydrated. Take evening primrose oil, borage oil, black currant oil or primrose oil capsules as dietary supplements. Limit your intake of caffeine and alcohol as these substances have a diuretic effect and as a result cause the body and skin to lose fluids. Make sure that you get your beauty sleep because while you are resting the skin cells are being repaired.

Avoid using harsh soaps as they will only dry out the skin further instead use mild natural wash or emollient soap substitutes. Choose rich moisturizers, creams that will be absorbed into the skin for longer periods. Forget using bubble bath as it strips the skin of its essential oils. Rather relax in oatmeal or milk powder that will leave your skin feeling hydrated and silky soft. Opt for aromatherapeutic bath crystals for an indulgent, all-natural soak with added benefits. For a nourishing, quick and easy face and body mask, mash a ripe banana or an avocado mixed with a few drops of lemon juice and spread it on your skin for about fifteen minutes. Rinse with lukewarm water. Honey is also an excellent skin moisturizer when applied to your skin regularly. The results are absolutely amazing and will leave you feeling soft and smooth all over.
