Exercise Protects You From Ageing & Memory-Loss
A newfound UC San Francisco study published in January 2022 has found an important link between exercise and cognition in the elderly. The link between the two have previously been noted in mice but never in humans. This is a breakthrough that the health industry has been waiting for!
While regular exercise comes with an array of health benefits (healthy bones, weight-loss, strong immune system, enhanced mood, etc.), this study focused specifically on how elderly people can benefit from staying active, thereby preventing decline in cognition and age-related memory-loss. It seems like exercise has been the memory potion we have been looking for!
The study noted that elderly people who exercise have more of a class of proteins in the brain that enhances the connections between neurons to maintain healthy cognition. These proteins may be vital to fending off dementia and age-related memory-loss.
This is a brilliant discovery because exercise can easily be incorporated into everyone's day-to-day life. The level of intensity is up to each individual, but keep in mind that even going for a walk or a swim counts!
Along with regular exercise, there are various supplements that are essential to brain health and cognition.
- BrainShine is our top brain-booster that helps to improve brain functioning, memory and mental alertness, and prevent mental decline and burnout.
- Ginkgo Biloba Leaf Extract improves healthy blood flow to support functions such as brain health, concentration, memory, preventing age-related brain issues, etc.
- Lion's Mane Mushroom is famous for improving cognitive performance, nerve regeneration, and preventing neurodegenerative disorders, such as Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s disease.
- Omega 3-6-9 is a long-standing supplement used for brain and nerve health. It helps to prevent conditions such as Alzheimer's and also boosts mood.
