Maca Powder and Maca Root have been banned for professional sportsmen and sportswomen

Why Maca has been BANNED for athletes!

Maca Powder and Maca Root have been banned for professional sportsmen and sportswomen!

The Australian Sports Anti-Doping Authority has now identified Maca Powder and Maca Root as a prohibited substance for all professional athletes. They've also been rated as a Category D substance by the Australian Institute of Sport.

There's a good chance that you've used Maca to make a delicious smoothie before.. So does this updated prohibition for elite athletes leave you feeling confused?

What is Maca?

Maca comes from Peru and has been used by Peruvians for thousands of years as a literal powerhouse of nutrition, especially for strength, energy and increased sex drive. It's a well-known ingredient that boosts both libido and fertility of men and women, while stablising hormones NATURALLY. Rich in mineral content, amino acids and other powerful nutritional benefits, Maca is a favourited Superfood for those who exercise, play sport and are regularly active.

People use Maca in smoothies, baked goods, hot drinks and cereals. It is given much praise for its healthy and natural physical benefits, rather than using synthetic boosters and products that often generate negative side effects.

So why is Maca banned?

The effects Maca produce in your body, such as enhanced physical performance, elevated testosterone or chlorophyll, can be detected through testings, and may result in penalties or the end of your athletic career! The Australian Sports Anti-Doping Authority advises that athletes subject to testing should be extremely cautious of any products which contain Maca – not because it is bad for you, but because it is so effective that they feel the using Maca could give you a competitive edge!

Soaring Free SuperFoods, the manufacturers of Maca products, had something interesting to say in their 15 November 2018 newsletter:

"As testimony to the effectiveness of Maca for enhancing your performance, it has now been placed on the list of banned substances for professional sportsmen and women! Isn't that incredible?! That's how potent it is!"

We completely agree with Soaring Free SuperFoods' statement and urge anybody who is looking for a healthy stamina boost, hormone balance and brain boost to incorporate Maca into their diet (unless they're an elite athlete, of course!).

  • This Maca Powder has a unique tangy taste that has the ability to increase fertility in women and relieve hormonal imbalances. It also balances mood and boosts energy in both men and women.
  • This Black Maca Powder is sometimes referred to as a natural viagra and is well-suited to men who want to increase their sperm count, boost their endurance and protect themselves from stress and fatigue.
